In 2020, the local Kenyan government, through the former Governor, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, took notice of the demonstration farm and provided a grant of 1.5 Kenyan Shillings (about $150,000 USD) to help expand our farm efforts! In 2021
the team built a tree nursery, a dam, added solar panels to power water pumps, and added a fishpond
to grow Tilapia. These projects helped provided more training opportunities and generate residual
profit, as we move toward becoming self-sustaining. In addition, youth in the community have started to
bring home these concepts and become more stable financially.
